Double Black Construction is one of Canada’s most experienced pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) erection contractors.

With over 20 years of hands-on field experience and a self-performing crew, we specialize in the erection of PEMB structures on behalf of general contractors, building manufacturers, and building owners across Canada.

Our scope is labour and equipment only. All materials are supplied by others — typically the PEMB manufacturer. That means no markups on steel, no material delays on our end,
and a clear, competitive price for the erection work itself.

What’s Included in Our PEMB Erection Scope:
Our standard PEMB erection scope includes all labour and equipment required to erect your pre-engineered building from the anchor bolts up. We work from the manufacturer’s erection drawings and coordinate directly with the building supplier on delivery and sequencing.

• Erection of primary rigid frames (clear span and multi-span)
• Installation of secondary framing: purlins, girts, eave struts, X-bracing, roof struts and diagonal braces
• Installation of roof panels: Standing Seam Roof (SSR) and exposed fastener systems
• Installation of wall cladding: exposed fastener and concealed fastener systems
• Gutters, downspouts, trim and flashings
• Framing of openings: overhead doors, walk doors, windows and louvers (supply by others)
• Equipment supply and operation: cranes, man-lifts and all lifting equipment
• Fall protection, safety equipment and site supervision throughout erection
